Let’s Get Social

The Context
Old Dominion University’s Admissions department lacked a strong social media presence. Previously, the department had only been posting filtered photos on a randomized basis. They were looking for more graphic content and to leverage the existing house brand to their advantage in a way that connects with a younger audience.

My Role
As the Lead Graphic Designer, I created and managed all social media content and strategy. I implemented a local hashtag strategy to drive organic traffic, and utilized brand colors that were brighter and visually compelling. I also often leaned on humor and relatability to convey key information. The admissions Instagram account saw a 1,500 follower jump and a 60% boost in engagement over 6 months.
